Your Ondegande account
Delete your account
Here's how to delete your Ondegande account and data. You can do it on the web without installing the app. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your account or records.
- Service
- Ondegande (온데간데) — travel map app, ondegande.app
- Operator
- Kim Seunghun (individual)
- Privacy contact
- [email protected]
Option 1: Delete it yourself in the app or on the web
No install needed. It works in any phone or computer browser, and your account is deleted as soon as you confirm.
- Open ondegande.app in your browser. If you have the app installed, you can use the app instead.
- Sign in with the social account you signed up with (Google, Apple, Kakao or NAVER).
- In the My Records tab, tap the gear button (Settings) at the top right.
- Under Account, tap Delete account, then tap Delete account again in the ‘Delete your account?’ dialog.
To keep your records, first use Export my records in the same dialog to download your visits and reviews as a file (JSON). Deleting your account cannot be undone.
Option 2: Ask by email if you can't sign in
If you can no longer use your social account or can't sign in, email us to request deletion with the following.
- The social account you signed in with: Google, Apple, Kakao or NAVER
- Your Ondegande nickname
After confirming your identity, we will tell you the result by email within 10 days. You can also use Contact us in the app (no sign-in needed); if you do, be sure to include a reply email.
Deleted as soon as you delete your account
- Account information: sign-in provider and the account identifier there, nickname, sign-up time, record of consent to the terms, service settings
- Visit records (regions, visit dates, ratings, notes, tags)
- Recommendation history (conditions entered, results, regions chosen)
- Home regions and excluded candidate regions
- If you turned on location tracking: the timeline (stays) and visit candidates on the server
- Profile photo (the file on the server)
- Reviews you had deleted that were waiting to be destroyed (deleted reviews are normally destroyed after 30 days)
- Sign-in session data and social sign-in tokens
- Your reporter information on reviews you reported
If you signed in with Kakao, NAVER or Apple, Ondegande asks that provider to disconnect your social account when you delete your account, and deletes the tokens it kept for this. If a connection still shows (Google included), you can remove Ondegande yourself in that social account's settings (connected apps and services).
What remains, and for how long
- Reviews — reviews you have not deleted remain, anonymized as ‘Deleted account’ with your author information removed (they are no longer linked to any account). Delete any reviews you do not want to leave before you delete your account.
- Inquiries — inquiries and emails you sent (including a request under option 2) are kept for 1 year after the inquiry is closed, then destroyed. Deleting your account only removes their link to it.
- Backups — the database is backed up daily and backups are deleted automatically after 14 days, so deleted information can remain in backups for up to 14 days. Backups are used only to recover from failures.
- Cached profile photos — copies cached by Cloudflare (CDN) and browsers may remain for up to 1 day.
- Access and operation logs (IP address, access time, requested address, browser and device information) — the oldest entries are deleted automatically once the server logs reach their size limit (up to 50 MB per service).
- Information stored on your device (sign-in token, routes in the app, settings and drafts in browser storage) — deleted when you sign out, delete your account, uninstall the app or clear your browser data.
