Why Ondegande

Always thinking of the same places for your next trip?

Logging where you've been and finding travel info happen in separate apps, so it's hard to start your search from ‘places I haven't been’.

  • Travel log apps

They keep track of where you've been, but don't tell you where to go next.

  • Travel info apps

Plenty of information, but they don't know where you've already been, so everyone sees the same places.

  • Ondegande

    Your log turns into picks

Ondegande uses your visits to find the places you haven't been, picks the ones that fit your plans, then takes you to their attractions, food and events.

How it works

Three steps to your next destination

  1. 1

    Color in where you've been

Tap a region on the map to mark it visited. Give it a rating and its color changes. Outside Korea, you color in whole countries.

  2. 2

    Choose your conditions

Pick a region, duration, interests and companions, and describe the mood you want in one line. Can't decide? Get random picks.

  3. 3

    Get your picks

You get three places, each with why it fits, a day plan and the events on during your dates. To swap just one, tap ‘Not this one’.

Features

From planning to looking back, all in one app

Visit map

A map that shows
everywhere you've been

Every place you tap fills in the map. Ratings show up as colors, and your records are visible only to you.

  • In Korea, zoom from provinces to cities, counties and districts, down to towns and neighborhoods
  • Log 237 countries and territories around the world, too
  • Rating colors are chosen to be easy to tell apart, even with color vision deficiency
  • Show place names on the map in Korean, English, Japanese or Chinese
Map screen: the provinces and cities you've visited are colored in, with a legend

Recommendations

Of the places you haven't been,
the ones worth a trip right now

Ondegande narrows down the candidates that match your conditions, then AI picks three, explaining why each one fits and how to spend the day there.

  • By default, picks come only from cities, counties and districts you haven't visited
  • Also shows festivals and performances on your chosen dates
  • Swap just one with ‘Not this one’, and see past picks again in History
  • You can also get random picks with no conditions
Recommendation result: a card for a region picked from the candidates, with a photo, ongoing events, the reasons, and ‘I'll go here’ and ‘Not this one’ buttons

Region pages

Once you know where,
one region page is all you need

Tourism data from the Korea Tourism Organization, gathered by region: attractions, food, stays and events on a map and in lists.

  • AI sums up each region and its visitor reviews in a few lines
  • Set a reference place to see the closest spots first
  • Opening hours, closing days, parking and other basics at a glance
  • Directions open straight in NAVER Map, KakaoMap or TMAP
Region page: a photo of Jongno-gu, a ‘Record visit’ button, and a map with markers for attractions, food, stays and events

Events

This weekend,
what's on and where?

Find festivals, performances and exhibitions across Korea by region and dates. Ongoing and upcoming events are shown separately.

  • Pick a period: this weekend, the next 30 days, next month
  • Switch from the list to the map to see where they are
  • Jump straight to the page of the region an event is in
Event list: cards for ongoing and upcoming festivals and events in the chosen region, with their dates

My Records

A map of your own
that fills up as you travel

See in numbers how many of Korea's cities, counties and districts you've been to, and which provinces and cities you've explored most.

  • Your share of cities, counties and districts visited, and progress by province or city
  • Countries visited and visits by year
  • Export your visits and reviews to a file anytime
Stats screen: 6% of cities, counties and districts visited, 4 of 197 countries and regions visited (including Korea), and a bar for each province or city

Privacy and trust

Your travel records
are for your eyes only

Ondegande is a service run by one person, with no ads. It asks only for what it needs, and your records always belong to you.

Read the Privacy Policy
  • Records stay private

Your visits, ratings and notes are visible only to you. The only things others see are the reviews you write yourself.

  • No ads

No ads, no paid features and no payments. Every feature is free.

  • Location tracking is optional

It's off by default, and the web version never collects your location. Even if you turn it on in the app, GPS coordinates are never sent to the server.

  • Export and account deletion

You can export your visits and reviews to a file. When you delete your account, your visits and recommendation history are erased.

Data

Built on public data and open maps

Tourism data is refreshed regularly from the Korea Tourism Organization, and region borders are the official administrative boundaries.

FAQ

Got questions?

Is it really free?

Yes. Every feature is free, and there are no ads. Ondegande is run by one person; donations are optional and have nothing to do with what the app can do.

Do I need to sign up separately?

No. Just sign in with a Google, Apple, Kakao or NAVER account.

Can I log trips abroad too?

Yes. You can color in 237 countries and territories around the world, each one as a whole. Region pages and recommendations cover Korea only for now.

How are recommendations made?

First, candidate regions are narrowed down from your visits and your conditions (region, duration, interests, companions). Then AI (Anthropic Claude) reads the candidates' summaries and the events during your dates, picks three, and writes the reasons and a day plan.

AI-written content can be wrong, so please double-check opening hours and event dates before you go.

Can other people see my visits?

No. Your visits, ratings and notes are visible only to you. The only things shown publicly on region pages are the reviews you write yourself.

Do you collect location data?

The web version doesn't collect your location. The upcoming iOS and Android apps suggest the regions you stayed in as visit candidates only if you turn on location tracking yourself, and it's ‘Off’ by default. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Can I book or get directions?

There's no booking or payment. For directions, a place's screen sends you straight to the NAVER Map, KakaoMap or TMAP app.

When are the app store apps coming?

iOS and Android apps are in the works. Until then, add the web app to your home screen and use it like an app.

Place information is wrong, or I want my data deleted.

Tell us via ‘Contact us’ in the app. You can delete your visits and reviews or export them to a file in Settings, and you can delete your account right from Settings too. For how to delete your account and what gets deleted, see Delete your account.

Can I use the app in English?

Yes. The app's screens come in Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese and follow your device language; you can change it in Settings › App language. Recommendations are written in your language, and AI translates the region summaries.

Place and event details from the Korea Tourism Organization (names, addresses, descriptions) and reviews are provided in Korean.
